Youth acting

Craig began his career as a child actor at age 7 in Hollywood.

  • His roles included two guest appearances in ''Star Trek: The Original Series.” First as Captain James T. Kirk's nephew, Peter James Kirk in the Season 1 finale episode "Operation: Annihilate!" in 1967, & as leader in "And the Children Shall Lead" in 1968.

  • “Bewitched” - Samantha's warlock nephew - guest-starred at age 10.

  • As a tween Craig guest starred on “Gunsmoke,” “The Virginian,” & “The Flying Nun,” [starring Sally Field], & as Billie Joe Morgan in the movie “Tammy and the Millionaire”

  • Craig starred for months on NBC’s brand new soap opera, “Days of our Lives.”

  • “The Brady Bunch” had Craig befriend Greg on Where There’s Smoke There’s Fire.

  • Craig played the award-winning son of Ernest Borgnine on “Run for your Life,” in tender scenes with Ben Gazzara and Academy Award winner, Borgnine.

  • As a teen he guest-starred together with real-life pal Ron Howard on “Lancer.”

  • In the 1970s he guest-starred and composed special music in final movie-of-the-week/pilot, Gene Roddenberry’s “Planet Earth.”

Excerpt from Ron Howard’s 2021 memoir, “The Boys.” The first film score Craig composed, using his very 1st Moog synthesizer. This was for a short film he starred in as a teenager, directed by his acting brother, Ron Howard.

  • “Lassie” ‘saved his life’ at age 9, and he was a boy scout on “The Beverly Hillbillies.”

  • Craig starred for months on NBC’s new soap opera, “Days of our Lives.”

“My Uncle, My Father! - My Uncle, My Father!”

It was through Craig’s role as Peter James Kirk, Captain Kirk’s nephew, on Star Trek TOS Season 1 finale, that he first met William Shatner. Bill was in his first year as Captain James T. Kirk, and his namesake Peter James Kirk was his only surviving kin. In the same episode, a mustache-sporting Shatner briefly portrayed Craig’s father.

Friends both on and off-screen, Craig became Music Director for William Shatner, appearing live in TV shows, concerts, and appearances at Futurist Festivals… the early COMIC-CON.

  • Craig put on his Mad Hatter top hat to create surreal cult-classic spoken-voice renditions of songs such as “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and “Rocket Man.”

  • Huxley composed all the special music, was the featured synth programmer & player, and Blaster Beam performer on the first 5 Shatner “Star Trek” movies.

In 2016 Star Trek producers filmed interviews with Craig at CBS Television City. After a galactic 50 year search through the Star Trek Prime Universe, TNG visual effects designer & ST Archeologist, Michael Okuda, unearthed the extra footage of Craig and Bill from “Operation Annihilate” Season 1 final episode closing scene.
